Cleaning Your New Tattoo

Approximately 1 1/2 hours after being tattooed, gently remove the bandage and wash the tattooed area.

** Be sure your hands are clean.**

  • Using antibacterial soap, gently wash the tattooed area with your hand using a circular motion to loosten any sav or blood on the tattoo.
  • Rinse well with warm running water.
  • Gently pat dry with a towel or paper towel, then apply a "thin layer" of the A & D Ointment provided to you.
  • You must repeat this process every 3 to 4 hours for the first 3 days to keep the tattoo free from bacterial buildup.
  • "Do Not" under any circumstance "Scratch or Pick" at the tattoo as this will seriously damage it.!
  • After 3 full days of using the A & D Ointment, start using an "Unscented Lotion" such as Aveeno, Lubriderm, or St. Ives Intensive healing.
  • Abusing these instructions will result in a tattoo that has a loss of ink, cracked and speckled looking from scabs, distortion etc.
  • Do yourself a favor on take care of this body art, it is a short lived but very important responsibilty if you want a nice looking tattoo.
